San Francisco has always been one of my favorite cities growing up. I have a multitude of pictures with me and my brothers on the Golden Gate Bridge as kids. For whatever reason last week I had the sudden urge to attend a festival. I know I know who is surprised. I’m no stranger to last minute sending a festival hello ARC 25 & Tomorrowland this year. So of course I started looking into it to make it happen and as always fate made it happen. I received a ticket from a friend’s brother and my flight and hotel were relatively inexpensive considering it being so last minute. I got upgraded to a top floor suite that overlooked Chinatown and took the free shuttle to the festival from the BART station. I forget how short of a flight it is from LA which now intrigues me to go back for next year. I was able to find all my friends from our groovers club chat and danced the night away. It’s true Despacio is a space that gives you the crispest sound and you feel fully immersed in the music with its glimmering disco ball. That day the 27th also held significant meaning. I sadly had to bury my father in law on this day years ago so while at Despacio I thought of him. I knew he’d be happy to see me living my life to the fullest even after everything I’ve been through. Disco Don I was grooving in your honor. I got to see my favorites of all time Swedish House Mafia and ended the night with Four Tet. Funny enough the first and last time I came to party in San Fran was for the Swedish house/Disclosure/MPH show so it only felt right for me to be there for them again. I swear I don’t follow them all around the world but it just happens. From witnessing them in the desert of Coachella, to a pouring rain show in Italy at Kappa Futur to last years B3B at Crystal gardens of Tomorrowland. They are my GOATS. Now I get to finish the year by seeing them again in 2 weeks. Music saves lives because it’s saved me. Also big thank you to the kind gentleman who took all the fire pics of me underneath the Portola sign. Portola your vibes were incredible and I can’t wait to be back.
