The city of lights and the city of love. It was the place that growing up I wanted to see the most because of the Eiffel Tower and I was fortunate to visit not once nor twice but three times in 2023. This was the 3rd trip after visiting Rome and London I took solo and one that I will forever cherish. I visited for the first time on Valentines weekend as a true lover girl does.

The fact that my flight cost $48 euros roundtrip from Spain was also a deciding factor in going when I did. The first thing I did as soon as I hopped off the plane was get on the train and book it to my tattoo appointment I had previously scheduled. I knew I wanted to get the word love tattooed on me but I decided to do it in Italian so it says “amore.” I used to have an Italian last name so it was a way to honor that part of my life. Aren’t I so original getting the word love in the city of love. I got it on my ankle because to me god is love and I will always be walking with god by my side. As I exited my appointment I wandered the city streets as one does getting lost in the beautiful architecture the city had to provide. I indulged in croissants, crepes and hot chocolate in the cutest cafes.

Taking the metro that connects you through the city was honestly one of my favorite things to do. Shoutout to Goggle Maps because it made it so easy to navigate the city and be able to connect me to all the neighborhoods I wanted to see like Montmartre.

Of course no Paris trip could be complete without visiting the Louvre and seeing the iconic Mona Lisa. The museum itself was bigger than I expected and it’s actually underground which I found fascinating.

The beautiful thing about this trip for me was that my beautiful niece was born that weekend. This is when I bought her first teddy bear and it started a tradition that for every country I visit since she was born I will buy her a teddy bear. She currently has 11 and I hope to grow that collection . When I lost my luggage in Croatia I was falling apart not because of the clothes which I could easily replace but because I had some of those teddy bears in that suitcase. Don’t worry I got it back.

Being the music lover that I am I decided to check out a rave of course. I visited T7 Paris and saw Habstrakt and Apashe that night. I must have taken really good content because Habstrakt reposted me that night. I made friends with a really lovely couple that spoke English and vibed with them and their group. I remember I was taking videos of myself dancing while I was so drunk because why not and had people join in and it was so much fun. I will post them on my IG story later. I recall two people telling me they liked my shirt but they would speak in French and when I stared at them blankly and said I didn’t know French they would tell me in English which I thought was really funny. Sometimes I think about these solo trips I’ve done and truly commend myself for being so brave. I don’t know many people who would’ve put themselves in the scenarios that I have and alone in another country at that. In the end I know I have God protecting me through it all and the journey of Jessy continues.
