I’m in London baby

Ever since I was a little girl I always romanticized London & the UK in general because I was a huge fan of Harry Potter. There was a post I remember seeing on instagram in September of 2022 about this new venue called The Beams and one of the artists that would be playing was MK, whom happens to be one of my favorite artists. He was scheduled in December and since I knew I’d be in Europe by October I immediately bought a ticket after seeing how inexpensive it was. I bought the ticket while still in California pending my visa. I told myself I don’t know yet how or with who I would go with but I’m going! The funny thing about the universe always having my back is once I got my work schedule that specific weekend I would have a 4 day weekend. It felt destined for me to attend this show. I was also able to squeeze in an extra show at the now closed & iconic venue Printworks the Friday before I saw MK. It had been the first time I ever went to a show/rave alone and certainly not the last. It also happened to be my second solo trip I ever did & one of my favorites. The thing about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is not knowing what’s waiting for you on the other side. You just have to have faith and go for it. I remember sitting down at The Folly restaurant and reflecting on the past year and where I was the previous December. December 2021 was the lowest point of my entire life as I lived alone for the first time in years and had to reassess and I asked myself the same question “What do I do now?” Well a year later I was enjoying a delicious piece of chocolate cake paired with a Christmas cocktail in London while living in Spain. I was lucky enough to return to London in March again for a second show at Printworks for Fuse with Chris Stussy before it closed in May. One thing I hope you all have noticed by now is I don’t wait on absolutely nobody to do anything in this life. That trip was also done solo but I am happy to report that I will be returning to London next year. My parents had the chance of visiting London in July before meeting up with me in Italy and they both absolutely fell in love with the city. So for Christmas I bought them flights to return to London with me. This first trip was already memorable but I cannot wait to make more magical memories but this time to share them with my parents who deserve the world and more.
